If you want to transfer a domain name from one domain registrar to another, you’ll have to pass through a few safety steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authorization code from the current domain registrar – as long as you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's mailbox and nobody else can get it. You’ll have to give this code to the new domain registrar, otherwise they will not be able to initiate the transfer procedure. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may include numbers or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy/paste the right code. As an extra security measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be reset on a regular basis. Some domain registrars call this code an Auth key, a domain password or a domain secret as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
You can obtain the EPP transfer code for any domain name that you have registered with our company with only several clicks from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to administer your hosting account. Once you visit the Registered Domains section, you will find all your domains neatly displayed in alphabetical order. If a particular extension supports transfers between domain registrars with an EPP code, you’ll see an EPP button on the right side of the given domain name. If you click on that button, the code will be sent to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain. If needed, you can edit the contact info, including the email address, without even leaving this section of the Control Panel, if the currently entered email address isn’t valid anymore.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you wish to transfer any domain name that’s registered under a semi-dedicated server account to another domain name registrar, you can get its EPP transfer authorization code with a couple of clicks of the mouse from the Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domains will be shown in a different Control Panel section. Quick-access controls will enable you to use separate functions. To obtain the transfer code, you only have to click on the EPP button, which will be on the right-hand side of any domain name whose TLD extension supports transfers with a transfer authorization code. Our system will send the code to the domain owner’s email address, which is presently listed in the domain’s WHOIS record. If you want, you can edit this email from the same section of the Control Panel before requesting the EPP transfer authorization code. The update will propagate momentarily, so you won’t have to wait for the new email to show up on WHOIS lookup sites.
